As Faith Community Nurses, we affirm that the church is a place for the care of the whole person: mind, body and spirit. Our mission is to support health promotion, disease prevention and whole person healing through linking individuals and families with resources, providing educational opportunities and offering health and wellness screenings. We are able to accomplish this through our shared faith and strengths with the support of the University United Methodist Church body and our affiliation with Hoag Hospital Health Ministries.

The AED and CPR training provided by Hoag Health Ministires went very well with ten UUMC members learning life saving skills. The AED has been donated by Hoag Health Ministries and it is currently being kept in the Copy Room of Williams Hall. Signs will be posted around campus directing AED location. The UUMC Health Ministry Team will be scheduling more CPR and AED trainings in the future.

The UUMC Health Ministry Committee will provide blood pressure screenings following service on Sunday about every three months at UUMC. Please plan to take advantage of this service!
